New Hanover County, in partnership with the City of Wilmington, the Wilmington Housing Authority, Good Shepherd Center, Leading Into New Communities (LINC), and Resiliency Task Force, joined efforts to collect furniture and select household items for more than 150 families who have been displaced due to extensive mold remediation. As we work diligently to return these families to permanent homes we are in need of furnishings to replace the furniture destroyed by mold.
The New Hanover Disaster Coalition will oversee all donations and will be announcing a new warehouse location and future furniture drive event dates in the coming weeks.
